Catherine Whitehouse

Catherine Whitehouse was born in Worcestershire in 1983 and is a Midlands-based textural artist, working primarily with fabrics. She studied art, design and textiles at Bournville College in the late 90s, and through her studies she discovered her love for texture and began developing artwork that she calls "touchy-feely."

Catherine’s inspiration is taken from the materials themselves and she uses fabrics, threads, beads, papers and paint to create relief artwork that results in a multi-layered final product. She aims to inspire curiosity and a desire to touch in the onlooker.
